Mireia Jofre-Bonet

Chief Research Officer and Head of Education

Mireia Jofre-Bonet is an economist specialising in microeconometrics and applied economics in health and healthcare-related issues. She holds an Honorary Visiting Professor position at the Department of Economics at City St George’s, University of London. She is a member of the Health Economics Study Group and the Royal Economic Society and serves on the UK Research and Innovation Expert Panel.

Her research covers topics in health economics, global health, and economic evaluation. Her current interests focus on the environmental sustainability of healthcare systems and the health co-benefits of climate action. She has also worked on innovative regulatory solutions to improve the affordability and accessibility of medical interventions, decision-making in health behaviours, the impact of mental health on labour outcomes, and the evaluation of healthcare reforms in low- and middle-income countries.

Mireia has held academic and research positions at the Department of Economics of City St. George’s University of London, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the Department of Public Health of Yale University. She actively contributes to policy discussions and advises on healthcare sustainability strategies. Her work includes projects on the economic evaluation of climate-health policies and broader regulatory and behavioural aspects of healthcare and public health.
