Oriol de Solà-Morales
Oriol has built a career in the planning, policy and decision-making environment, participating not just in the micro management, but also being deeply involved on the meso and macro policy areas.
Oriol has held managing positions in healthcare planning and hospital management, and has been CAHTA’s (Regional HTA) Director from 2007 to 2011. Oriol has served as Strategic Hospitaller Director Sant Joan de Déu and Innovation Director in Sagessa, a University Hospital trust, dealing with drug and devices portfolio, technology purchase and managed entry schemes. Oriol has been involved in venture capital and start-ups.
In 2011 Oriol founded HITT, a biotech consultancy specialised in Market Access and Technology Transfer. They collaborate with start-ups and manufacturers in delivering products to the market, designing access strategies, defining value, proposing partnerships with public providers or implementing Market Entry Agreements. In 2019, HiTT started journey to transform itself into HiTT Foundation, to stimulate innovative solutions for a sustainable healthcare system.
Oriol has been a policy advisor to 2 Ministers of Health and member of the Regional Research Advisory Council. I am an assistant professor in Health Economics at Universitat Ramon Llull -IQS, and teaches in several courses nationally and internationally.
Oriol is an MD specialised in Internal Medicine. I earned an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and a PhD from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
