Sarin KC is the Head of the Environmental Economics Unit at the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP), Ministry of Public Health, Thailand.
As a health economist, he has supported the institutionalisation of HTA in several countries including Bhutan, Ghana, and India. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his work focused on strengthening the use of infectious disease modelling for urgent policymaking and safe reopening of borders using vaccination certifications. Under , his team is undertaking research to ensure the Thai health system is climate and carbon resilient. In addition, the team is working to advance methods to incorporate environmental impacts of health interventions into HTA.
