Dr Mike Paulden, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the School of Public Health, University of Alberta, Canada. He is a health economist with expertise in the economic evaluation of medicines and other health technologies. His research on time preference and discounting has contributed towards guidelines used for economic evaluations in Canada and elsewhere. He has a particular interest in understanding the impact of reimbursing health technologies on population health outcomes. He is a member of the Health Economics Advisory Council that advises the Canadian Agency for Drugs & Technologies in Health (CADTH) on its methods for conducting health economic evaluations.
