OHE’s Yan Feng becomes a member of the EuroQol Research Foundation.
Dr Yan Feng, Senior Economist at OHE, has been awarded membership of the EuroQol Research Foundation, the not-for profit research organisation which developed the EQ-5D, a widely used measure of self-reported health.
Dr Feng has been involved in statistical and econometric analysis of EQ-5D data since 2011, working closely with OHE’s Professor Nancy Devlin, Mike Herdman, Koonal Shah and OHE Senior Fellow Professor David Parkin. She has made important contributions to OHE’s research on health outcomes, including both methodological and applied EQ-5D research.
Dr Feng is currently principal investigator on a number of projects including:
She is also contributing econometric expertise to a wide range of projects, including ‘Anchoring discrete choice experiment values at 0 for the EQ-5D-Y’; ‘Developing an EQ-5D-5L value set for Australia using the EQ-VT protocol’; and ‘New methods for analysing the distribution of EQ-5D observations’. Yan is also leading the work to model an EQ-5D-5L value set for the UK, building on the value set for England (currently under review with a peer review journal).
Professor Nancy Devlin comments, “We are delighted that Yan has been offered membership of the EuroQol Group. This is a well-deserved recognition of the excellent work she has been undertaking on econometric analysis of EQ-5D data over a number of years, and the substantial ongoing programme of work Yan has planned in this area”.
Yan’s recent publications relating to the EQ-5D include the following:
