OHE is seeking to recruit a well-qualified, highly motivated and energetic economist. The economist will contribute to research and consultancy activities.
OHE is seeking to recruit a well-qualified, highly motivated and energetic economist, with strengths in the economics of: health technology assessment, the economics of health care systems, and a particular interest in health outcomes measurement and valuation. The position is for one year in the first instance, with the expectation of continuing appointment if funding allows.
The main purpose of the economist role is to undertake and present analyses on the topics of life sciences, health systems and HTA, in all three core OHE activities: research, consultancy, and advice to the ABPI. This will involve working with OHE colleagues, academic collaborators, the ABPI and other clients’, and with external stakeholders.
Candidates must have:
- a good first degree, majoring in economics, or a postgraduate qualification in health economics;
- thorough knowledge of the economics of one or more of outcome measurement and valuation; health technology assessment; organisation and financing of health care;
- practical experience of research and/or consulting; and
- demonstrable ability to research, write and present clearly argued analyses in fluent English within tight deadlines.
