To a mixed audience of academics, medics and industry representatives, Martina Garau and Adrian Towse from the OHE provided an overview of the main pricing and reimbursement policies currently used throughout the EU25. Also outlined were those factors most likely to drive future pricing and reimbursement policies. These include reference pricing, first introduced in Germany and the Netherlands and subsequently adopted by many other countries. Similarly, the increasing use of 'relative therapeutic value' when member states make pricing decisions, was discussed.
