and methods for making submissions as part of NICE's technology appraisals programme and the SMC's New Product Assessments, to stimulate discussion on how these bodies use and interpret evidence. The group was also addressed by Francis Pang of Abbott Laboratories on the challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry in fulfilling requirements for economic evidence, including a discussion of structures put in place to meet these requirements and how companies are mobilising the necessary resources both through the use of in-house staff and outsourcing.
