Senior Economist - Martina Garau
Martina joined the Office of Health Economics as a permanent team member in 2004 and, since then, she has contributed to consultancy and research across a wide range of projects.
Her main research work concern the economics of pharmaceutical innovation, with a particular focus on policy incentives to foster private R&D, and decision-making systems adopted in Europe for pricing and reimbursement of new medicines, with a particular focus on the UK system (e.g. methods and processes of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence - NICE).
Prior to joining the OHE Martina completed a placement at NICE in London. She has an MSc in economics from the University of York and a first degree in economics from the University of Cagliari (Italy).
